Perform a Maintenance Wash

A maintenance wash is required every 14 days. A maintenance wash is also required after a post-run wash fails or is incomplete or a critical system error stops a run.

The maintenance wash flushes the system with user-supplied dilutions of Tween 20 and NaOCl. The dilutions are pumped from the wash cartridges to the flow cell, used reagent bottles, and each cartridge reservoir to wash all sippers. Wash duration is ~3 hours.

A maintenance wash requires a wash reagent cartridge, a used buffer cartridge, and either the provided wash flow cell or a used 8-lane sequencing flow cell that has not been removed from the system. You cannot perform a maintenance wash with the 2-lane 1.5B Flow Cell.

When not in use, store the wash flow cell at room temperature in its original packaging, including the plastic tray and bag.
