Specify Input and Output Paths
The iScan System obtains processing file information from the input path. The output path is the location where all files are saved upon scan completion. When the iScan System is running under LIMS, you cannot change the input or output paths. These paths are designated by the LIMS project management software.
Specify input and output paths as follows.
1. | On the iScan Control Software Setup screen, next to the Input or Output Path, select Browse. |
2. | Navigate to the appropriate folders, and then select OK. |
• | Input Path—The folder that contains subfolders for all the BeadChips that you are scanning. Make sure that the subfolders are named with each BeadChip barcode number. |
• | Output Path—The folder where you want iCS to save image files (*.jpg, *.png, or *.tif), bead location files (*.locs) when saving *.tifs, scan metrics (*.txt), and intensity data files (*.idat) for each BeadChip. Output for each BeadChip is saved in a subfolder named after the BeadChip barcode number. |

On Windows 10, you must manually type the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path to access the DMAP files on any shared network drives.
• | Use the full UNC path to the output folder. A UNC path uses double backslashes to precede the name of computer or server. Example: \\server\level1\level2\ |
• | If the output path is only one level deep, a trailing backslash is required. Example: \\server\level1\ |
• | Do not use a mapped network drive path, such as Z:\ |
Find the UNC path of a Windows 10 drive as follows.
1. | Open Windows Command Prompt. |
2. | Enter the following command: net use |
This command displays the full UNC path of all network drives connected to the system, along with each associated Windows drive letter.
