PosID3
The Positive Identification Tool Version 3 (PosID3) uses a barcode scanner to identify tubes, microplates, and carriers positioned on the worktable.
The PosID3 scans the ID barcodes of carriers as it moves past them through its front aperture. Equipped with a gripper, the PosID3 pulls carriers towards the rear of the instrument, enabling it to scan tubes and microplates. The design of the barcode scanner allows it to scan both vertically and horizontally aligned barcodes.
Due to the specific microplate carriers used in the IAPS with ILASS configuration, the PosID3 is exclusively employed for scanning tubes and carriers, not microplates. The scanning of microplates and BeadChips is carried out by the RoMa barcode scanner.
