Maintenance, Service, and Repair Precautions

Periodic maintenance (daily, weekly, and annual maintenance) is a mandatory part of the service routine for the IAPS with ILASS. For more information, refer to Maintenance.
Only trained Illumina field service personnel are authorized to perform maintenance on the IAPS with ILASS. The only exceptions are for daily maintenance procedures, weekly maintenance procedures, instrument decontamination, and general cleaning as described in Maintenance.
After system care or maintenance, verify the correct system operating conditions before resuming operation.
For repair or shipment, all mechanical parts must be put in their rest positions. No containers or tips can remain on the IAPS with ILASS during transportation. If an instrument was in a laboratory environment with infectious or hazardous materials, decontaminate it before shipment.
Only Illumina trained field service personnel can pack the IAPS with ILASS in the original shipping crate. Contact your local Illumina representative for assistance.
Illumina trained field service personnel and the laboratory share the responsibility for any training and verification procedures for the IAPS with ILASS. These procedures include any installation qualification (IQ) and operational qualification (OQ) of the instrument.
Only use original IAPS with ILASS specific parts and tools with the IAPS with ILASS.
Damaged safety devices must be replaced immediately. Contact Illumina Technical Support for support.
A breakdown of the power supply during a run can cause loss of data. If data loss is unacceptable, use an independent power supply or an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) as described in Electrical Requirements.
