Overview

The Illumina MiSeq system combines established sequencing by synthesis (SBS) technology with an innovative workflow. This enables you to transition from DNA to analyzed data in as little as eight hours. The MiSeq integrates cluster generation, sequencing, and data analysis with a single instrument.

We strongly recommended that you review Illumina’s Best Practices at Security and Networking to keep your instrument secure.

Features

Walk away automation—After setting up your run, including loading the prefilled reagent cartridge, buffer bottle, and flow cell, no additional hands-on intervention is required.
Prefilled reagent cartridge—A specially designed single-use reagent cartridge comes prefilled with the necessary reagents for cluster generation and sequencing. This includes paired-end sequencing reagents and indexing reagents. Integrated radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology ensures accurate tracking of consumables.
Interface controls—The MiSeq Control Software (MCS) interface provides controls to configure the instrument, set up and monitor runs, and perform maintenance procedures.
Convenient flow cell loading—A clamping mechanism automatically positions the flow cell during loading onto the instrument. Integrated radio-frequency identification (RFID) tracking ensures accurate consumable tracking.
Innovative fluidics architecture—The MiSeq fluidics system enables efficiency in chemistry cycle time during sequencing.
Real-Time Analysis (RTA)—The integrated analysis software performs real-time on-instrument data analysis throughout the sequencing run. This includes image analysis and base calling, ultimately saving valuable time during downstream analysis.
Local Run Manager—The software processes data from the RTA analysis, performing alignment and providing information about each analyzed sample.
