Add a USB Drive
Adding a USB drive for external storage is only recommended when MiSeq i100 Plus is not connected to a network. A USB drive can also be used to import Sample Sheets and resource files.
The USB drive must be configured as follows.
• | Formatted to exFAT or NTFS. |
• | Contain a folder to be used as the output folder. The folder name cannot have a space. |
The folder cannot be created in the MiSeq i100 Plus Control Software, it must be created before adding the USB to the instrument.
• | Connected to the USB 3.1 port. Refer to Peripheral Connections. |
To use your USB drive as the output folder, you must first add it as an available external storage volume. Add the USB drive as follows.
1. | Select the menu icon in the upper-left corner. |
2. | Select Settings, and then select External storage. |
3. | Select Add USB storage. |
If the USB is encrypted, then enter the password. Do not enter a password if the USB is not encrypted.
4. | Select Add. |
After adding the USB, the USB becomes available as an output storage volume.
5. | Specify the default output folder location. Refer to Set Default Output Folder. |
To remove the USB drive later, select Eject in the Actions column of the server on the External storage screen.
If the USB connection is interrupted, the instrument will still display the USB as an entry in the external storage screen. However, the USB drive will not be selectable due to the lost mount. Follow the onscreen prompts to eject and remount the USB To restore the connection.
