Add Users

Users with the Administrator role can add new users using the MiSeq i100 Series Control Software. Cloud users are automatically created when they first sign into the instrument using their BaseSpace Sequence Hub credentials. After a BaseSpace Sequence Hub user is created, a user is created in the MiSeq i100 Series Control Software automatically and their access can be configured manually.

Add a User

1.

Select the menu icon in the upper-left corner.

Select Settings, and then select Users.

Select Add user.

4.

Enter the following information:

•

User name

•

First name

•

Last name

5.

Confirm that the User status checkbox is selected to set the user status as Active.

Only active users can sign into the instrument.

Enter a temporary password. Temporary passwords cannot be reused.

Users sign in for the first time with the temporary password. They are then prompted to change their password. Refer to Password Requirements for password requirements.

7.

To add a user as an administrator, select the Administrators checkbox.

Refer to User Permissions for more information on group permissions.

8.

Select Yes, save when finished.

Password Requirements

When creating a user, the password must meet the following requirements.

Policy	Security Setting
Password length	8–64 characters
Minimum password character requirements	• One upper-case character • One lower-case character • One numerical character • One special character
Password history	Cannot match any of the previous five passwords
