Customize System Settings
This section includes information on configuring the available customization settings. You can also change default run settings on a per run basis during run review.
To set a default output folder, refer to Specify the Default Output Folder Location .
1. | Select the instrument icon to open the global navigation menu. |
2. | Select Settings, and then select Instrument settings. |
3. | Enter a preferred name for the instrument. The name can include up to 20 alphanumeric characters. |
The name appears along the top of each screen.
4. | Select Save. |
Admin users can disable FSE access to the system. This setting prevents FSE access to the Linux OS and control software, but FSE can still access service software.

2. | Select Settings, and then select Instrument settings. |
3. | Select the Disable Field Service Engineer (FSE) access to the system checkbox. |
4. | Select Save. |

3. | Select a default run selection from the following options: |
• | Planned run |
• | Manual run (generate BCLs only) |
• | Import sample sheet for local analysis |
4. | Select Save. |

3. | To change the default setting for runs with local analysis, deselect the Transfer BCL data folder to the external storage and/or cloud checkbox. |
This setting does not apply to manual runs generating BCL files only or runs with cloud analysis.
