Network Settings
Administrator credentials are required to update network settings, set a proxy server, update firewall settings, or renew a transport layer security (TLS) certificate. Time settings do not require administrator credentials. For assistance with updating network settings, contact Illumina Technical Support.

1. | Select the instrument icon to open the global navigation menu. |
2. | Select Settings, and then select Network settings. |
The current host name, domain name, and network configurations display.
3. | To update the host name or the optional domain name, select Edit. Modify as needed, and then select Save. |
After changing the domain name, you must sign into the control software.
4. | Select Edit for the network interface that you want to update. |
If two network interfaces are configured (LAN1 and LAN2), the primary label designates which network takes priority.
5. | To configure the IP address, use one of the following options: |
• | Manually enter IP address—Use editable fields to configure the IP address, netmask, and gateway. Gateway is optional. |
• | Automatically assign IP address (DHCP)—The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) automatically provides an IP address, netmask, and gateway. |
6. | To configure the Domain Name System (DNS) server IP address, use one of the following options: |
• | Manually enter DNS server IP address—Enter the DNS server IP address. If there is no DNS server IP address, leave blank. To enter multiple addresses, use a comma-separated list. |
• | Automatically assign DNS server IP address—The DHCP automatically provides a DNS server IP address or addresses. |
7. | [Optional] Enter a DNS search domain. |
To enter multiple search domains, use a comma-separated list.
8. | Select Save. |

1. | Select the instrument icon to open the global navigation menu. |
2. | Select Settings, and then select Proxy settings. |
3. | Select the Enable proxy checkbox. |
4. | Enter the server address and port. |
5. | If the proxy server requires authentication, select the Requires user name and password checkbox, and then enter the user name and password. |
6. | Select Save. |

2. | Select Settings, and then select TLS certificate. |

3. | To generate a certificate, select Use self-signed certificate. |
4. | To upload a new TLS certificate, select Use my own certificate. This option requires that you upload the following files: |
• | TLS certificate |
• | TLS key |
• | CA certificate |
5. | Select Renew TLS certificate. |
The TLS certificate renewal takes ~15 minutes.
6. | Select Continue to sign into the instrument. |

2. | Select Settings, and then select Time settings. |
If configured, the current network time protocol server address displays.
3. | To update the server address, enter the address for a network protocol time server or server pool. |
To enter multiple network protocol time servers, use a comma-separated list.
4. | Select Save. |

Enable network ports 80 and 443 to support features that require remote access, such as remotely planning runs, monitoring runs, managing users, or managing secondary analysis applications.

2. | Select Settings, and then select Firewall settings. |
3. | Select the Enable network ports 80 and 443 for remote access checkbox. |
4. | Select Save. |
