Replace Air Filter

The air filter is single use and covers the fan in the bottom drawer in the front of the instrument. It ensures proper cooling and prevents debris from entering the system. The instrument is shipped with one air filter and four spares. Additional spares are included with a valid instrument service contract, or they can be purchased separately from Illumina.

Use the following instructions to replace an expired air filter every 3 months. After replacing the air filter, reset the air filter expiration.

1.

Select the instrument icon to open the global navigation menu.

2.

Select Settings, and then select Unlock doors.

3.

On the NovaSeq X Plus, select both sides.

For the NovaSeq X, both sides unlock automatically for access to the air filter drawer.

Select Unlock doors.

The instrument doors unlock, and you can access the air filter drawer.

5.

Press and hold the latch under the air filter drawer located at the bottom of the instrument.

6.

Pull the filter drawer (A) open.

7.

Remove the used air filter and discard.

8.

Insert the new air filter so the label is facing towards you.

9.

Press and hold the latch under the air filter drawer.

10.

Close the filter drawer.

11.

On the Unlock doors screen, select Reset filter expiry.

12.

Make sure that the instrument doors are shut, and then select Lock doors.
