The control materials described in this section are optional for use with the Illumina Viral Surveillance Panel v2.
Enterobacteria Phage T7 and Phage MS2 Internal Control Sample
| • | Add Enterobacteria Phage T7 and/or Bacteriophage MS2 as an internal spike-in control to each test sample before starting DNA extraction to serve as a process control for nucleic acid extraction. The recommended concentration for these controls is to spike T7 phage at 1.21E+07 copies/ml or spike MS2 phage at 5.38E+08 copies/ml of the sample volume before DNA extraction. The concentration can be adjusted based on your workflow. |

Running the optional external controls consumes reagents and reduces the total number of unknown test samples that can be processed with this kit.
