Pre- and Post-Amplification Area

Establish dedicated areas and lab procedures to prevent product contamination before you begin work in the lab. PCR products can contaminate reagents, instruments, and samples, delaying normal operations and causing inaccurate results.

Use the following guidelines to avoid cross-contamination:

Establish a pre-amplification area with dedicated entrances for pre-amplification processes.

•

Make sure that lab personnel do not have to pass through any post-amplification lab areas to access the pre-amplification area.

•

Place the Infinium Amplification System in the pre-amplification area.

•

Do not pass materials or equipment from any post-amplification area to the pre-amplification area.
