Make sure that the IAS front safety cover is closed. |

Launch the Hamilton STAR Maintenance & Verification application. |
The Hamilton Maintenance and Verification Run window opens, lists all maintenance and verification processes for the instrument, and displays their current status.

If the Status column indicates that daily maintenance is required, select the Weekly maintenance checkbox in the Execute column. |
When daily maintenance is performed, make sure that only the Weekly maintenance checkbox is selected. Illumina recommends running only the weekly maintenance routine for daily and weekly maintenance because it completes both maintenance routines in one run. The procedures in those routines are almost identical, but the weekly routine is more comprehensive.

In the top menu, select the green arrow to launch the Hamilton Run Control application. |
The Hamilton Run Control application displays the initial maintenance prompt.

Select Yes to execute the maintenance procedure. |
|
6.
|
Follow all prompts and instructions during the procedure to complete the maintenance run. |
The software proceeds with instructions to make sure that following conditions are met:

Autoload tray is clear. |
|
•
|
If necessary, carriers are cleaned. |
|
•
|
Tip tightness is checked and the Z-axes are aligned with the teaching needles. |
|
•
|
If necessary, the deck is cleaned and the tip waste drawers are emptied. For instructions on emptying the waste containers in the drawers, refer to Empty the Waste Containers. |
|
•
|
Robot arm and the autoload drive pass over the deck to test their range and make sure that no obstructions exist. |
When the procedure completes, a prompt displays indicating that the weekly maintenance has been successfully completed.

Select OK to close the prompt. |
This selection closes the prompt and the Hamilton Run Control application and returns to the Hamilton STAR Maintenance & Verification window.

From the Hamilton STAR Maintenance & Verification window, make sure that completed is displayed in the Status column for both the Weekly and Daily maintenance routines. |
When weekly maintenance is completed, daily maintenance is also completed. If you run the daily maintenance routine, you must also run the weekly maintenance routine when it is due.

9.
|
Close the maintenance application. |
ILASS v1.5 and earlier does not register or track when maintenance is performed using this method outside of ILASS.
