Liquid Level Detection
Capacitive Liquid Level Detection (cLLD) allows a pipette tip to locate the surface of a liquid when an aspiration or dispense step starts. The 96 CO-RE head has cLLD sensors on the A1, B2, G11, and H12 channels.
The cLLD sensors detect the difference in capacitance between a tip suspended in the air and one immersed in a liquid. These sensors ensure the presence of liquid within a container and then calculate its volume. If the volume is less than expected, an error message appears.
