Local and Platform Authentication

ILASS modules can use two different modes of user authentication:

LocalILASS uses Keycloak, an open-source identity management service, for user authentication and authorization on a local network. This mode does not require Internet access.
PlatformILASS uses an Illumina-based cloud platform authentication service for user authentication and authorization. This mode requires network connection and Internet access. To use Platform mode, you must create an enterprise account on an Illumina cloud platform. This account can be acquired with an Illumina Connected Analytics (ICA) Basic subscription.

These authentication modes are set up and configured during ILASS installation by a trained Illumina field service representative. For more information, contact Illumina Technical Support.

For more information about Keycloak and site requirements, refer to documentation on the Keycloak website.

For more information and guidance about platform mode setup, contact your Illumina Sales and Support representatives.
