Specify Service Account Settings

Local Run Manager Analysis Service and Local Run Manager Job Service accounts are configured as Local System Account by default. Universal Copy Service account uses Local Service Account by default. You can configure as Windows Account for each Service Account.

1. From the dashboard navigation bar, select the Tools drop-down list, and then select System Settings.
2. Select the Service Accounts tab, then select Windows Account, to enable and set the credentials for Analysis Service, Job Service, and Universal Copy Service.
3. In the User Name field, enter a user name.

For instruments that run Windows 10 with a local account, include .\ at the beginning of the user name (eg,.\username). For domain users, include the domain name, then a backslash in the user name (eg,domain\username).

4. In the Password field, enter a password.

For instruments that run Windows 10, the operating system requires a Windows password change every 180 days. The Windows Account in Local Run Manager must be updated with the same password as the Windows operating system.

5. Select Save. Confirm your action to finish the save.

NOTE

Local Run Manager Analysis Service Local System and Local Run Manager Job Service Local System and Universal Copy Service Local Service Accounts do not have access to network folders and storage or to the cached credentials. This prevents Local Run Manager from reaching to network folders and storage and results in errors.

To read and write to network folders, you must cache, or save account credentials that have access to the network folders or storage through Windows Credential Manager.

If a network folder is on the domain, you must cache using the domain account credentials. Contact your IT administrator for the domain account information.

Caching the credentials allows current local account access to network folders or storage.

This step is important if the account running the Local Run Manager services (such as sbsuser) does not have access to network folders or storage. The instrument operating software can then use the cached credentials to connect to network folders.

NOTE

Illumina recommends to use the same Windows Account for the Local Run Manager Service Accounts and Windows Operating System log in account. eg, if a domain account is used for Windows Operating System log in to the instrument, the same domain account should be set for Service Accounts in Local Run Manager.
