Cases
A case contains the subject, samples, reports, and related metadata required to complete a test in the lab. Use the Cases tab to view and manage case data, review statuses, and track turnaround time.
The Cases tab lists all cases, grouped by their state of progress. Refine results by searching or filtering cases.
•
Search for cases by case ID, Subject Last Name, Subject Recode Number, Sample ID, and Sample Name. Searching applies across all case statuses. |
•
Apply filters to search results or to all cases within the same status page. |
•
Sort columns by date or turnaround time. When TAT is enabled, the default sort order is In Progress and by Due Date. On the All tab cases are sorted by last modified date. |
•
The default sort is the case creation date for New cases, and due date for In Progress cases. |
Case Status
•
New—Case information is partially complete. The case has not been submitted or molecular data has not been received. |
•
In Progress—Case subject data is complete, the case has been submitted, and the sample files are processing or complete. |
•
Complete—Interpretation is complete and the report is approved. Keep in mind multiple reports can be associated with a case. |
Case Substatus
The case status tag provides additional information about the progress of a case from creation to report delivery. Some statuses automatically update when the sample files are processed.
•
Active/Inactive—The active status of the case's interpretation. Closed cases are automatically moved to inactive status. |
•
Awaiting Molecular Data—The sequencing data has not been received. |
•
Closed—Reporting is complete and the case is closed. |
•
Delivered—The report has been delivered. |
•
Has Issue—The case cannot be processed. Review the Subject Info page for details and correct any errors before the molecular data is analyzed. There are two courses of action: |
–
Resume: Processing will begin from the last successful step in the analysis pipeline. (ie. The case timed out due to AWS resource limitations.) |
–
Edit and Save: The analysis pipeline will be restarted. (ie. Samples, subject sex, number of subjects, or case specific custom annotation files need to be modified.) |
•
Missing Sample Information—One or more samples are missing from the case. |
•
Processing —The case is being analyzed. |
•
QC Warning—One or more QC metrics does not meet the threshold. |
•
Ready for Interpretation—Subject and sample data are complete and the case can be interpreted. |
•
Ready for Processing—The case has been initiated but not submitted. |
•
Ready for Review—Required reports have been submitted for review. |
•
Reports Available—Reports are approved and can be delivered. |
•
Unassigned—A case manager has not been assigned. |
•
Case Metadata—Case metadata added via API. |
